No-cost and low-cost resources for entrepreneurs and businesses.
Business Travel and Transportation
Costs aside, business travel can be easy and enjoyable if you research your options, plan and book ahead, and take note of others' experiences with the travel companies you use. Here are some resources for these purposes.

Dopplr is a free online service that lets frequent travelers share travel plans and connect with friends and colleagues during trips.

GasBuddy is a free site lets you find "cheap" gas where you live and work, and has
the most comprehensive listings of low gas prices in the U.S.

Kayak is a free travel-specific search engine that compares prices from hundreds of sites at the same time. Use it to find the lowest airfares, hotel rates, car rental rates, etc. and to book your flights, rooms, and more.

Oyster is a relatively new site that provides hotel reviews, not by travelers but by professional reporters who approach reviews from a journalistic perspective.

RushMyPassport.com isn't the cheapest service but if you need your passport in a hurry, then this official U.S. passport expediter is for you. Standard service is $99 plus the government fee, which is a bargain if you can't wait weeks or months to get your passport.

Spirit Airlines has a $9 Fare Club, which lets you pay just $9 each way
(excluding taxes and fees and based on availability) to and from select cities when they run a promotion. The 3-month trial membership is $9; annual membership is $39.95. Note: Caveat emptor. I've seen several *bad* reviews for Spirit but others love them.

Trapster - Get real-time alerts about speed traps via your mobile phone. Share the ones you spot (hopefully not caught in) too. Free.

TripAdvisor is an often-used site for travelers' reviews and recommendations of hotels, airlines, restaurants, and more.

Tripology is a free service that connects you with travel agents that can help you plan your trips, especially the ones where a specialized agent is the most beneficial.
